Witness to my extended family

I went back to Nebraska to my grandmother's funeral. While there, I stayed with my Aunt from my dad's side of the family. During my stay, my Aunt asked me what the difference was between Catholics and Protestants. I explained it to her and sent her several phamplets and devotional material.

A couple of years later, we were there again as a family and stayed with her. She had turned to Christ and was teaching in a church in the children's Sunday school department at a Missouri Synod Luthern Church. She had an adult daughter who lived with her who had special needs and she would read the scriptures to her every night, hoping the Lord would convert her.

A few years later my cousin called and said that mom, my Aunt, had passed away. The family wanted me to come back and do the funeral. Not only had Aunt Elsie come to know the Lord but her witness was used by the Lord. My cousin had turned to the Lord, his wife and three of their 4 sons. Two of his sisters were professing Christ as well.

God makes things happen out of our obedience to make disciples. My encouragement to you is to work through the fear you may have of people for the Glory of God and the furtherance of His Kingdom. We must walk by faith and obedience in this area of our lives as well. Two verses of study that come to mind are 1Cor 10:31(Do all to the Glory of God) and Matthew 20:16ff ( The Great Commision to Make Disciples). May God bless you and your labors as you reach out to others. Martyn Lloyd Jones said that we become evangelists when we are born again(born from above)( when God has given us the spiritual life lost in Adam's fall.)
